From Omaha roots to entrepreneurship, Brent’s journey has always been driven by people, passion, and the pursuit of something bigger.
Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Brent was a social kid who discovered his love of teamwork at an early age. He played soccer and basketball at Mary Our Queen Catholic School and spent his summers playing what he considers his first love—baseball—with the Ralston Little League Association.
At Westside High School, Brent continued his athletic career as a member of the basketball and track teams. At the time, he dreamed of becoming a teacher and coach, which led him to Northwest Missouri State University. While in college, however, his plans took an exciting turn. Brent realized he wanted to pursue his entrepreneurial side and someday own his own business.
He changed his major to Marketing and Spanish, combining two of his passions: business and language. His interest in Spanish began as a child when he remembers learning to count to 10 in Spanish while watching Sesame Street. He continued studying the language throughout high school and college and eventually spent six months studying abroad in Querétaro, Mexico.
That experience was life-changing—and memorable for more than just the academics. During his time in Mexico, Brent and some friends even had the opportunity to “run with the bulls” at a local festival, an experience he describes as the wildest of his lifetime. He also learned an important lesson about appreciating the comforts of home: “You really know how lucky and blessed you are when you can’t drink the water from the faucet!”
After graduating with dual degrees, Brent moved to Austin, Texas, with a close friend to experience life outside of Omaha. He began his professional career with Sherwin-Williams, working his way through the company’s management trainee program. The experience gave him a strong foundation in leadership, customer service, people management, and team building—skills that would serve him well throughout his career.
In the winter of 2004, Brent returned to Omaha to be closer to family. His entrepreneurial spirit remained strong, and in 2012 he took another leap of faith, entering the financial industry with Edward Jones.
Brent’s interest in investing began much earlier. His father taught him from a young age that investing was an important part of achieving independence and financial freedom. Brent took that lesson to heart, educating himself about his 401(k), Roth IRAs, and personal investments. He enjoyed tracking his progress and watching his accounts grow.
Becoming a financial advisor ultimately proved to be the perfect career fit.

After 10 years with Edward Jones, Brent took an even bigger entrepreneurial leap in April 2022, partnering with former Edward Jones colleague Jon Schuetz to establish Soar Wealth Strategies. The move allowed Brent to create an elevated experience for families while giving him greater control over the day-to-day operations of the business.
Brent says that leap would not have been possible without the support of his business partner, clients, friends, and—most importantly—his wife, Amy.
❤️ His Greatest Supporter
Brent met Amy in June 2006 at the College World Series in Omaha. The two soon began dating and were married three years later. Brent describes Amy as his “rock” and credits her love and support as an essential part of his professional success.
When they aren't working, Brent and Amy enjoy spending time with friends and family, cheering on college football and volleyball, golfing, and trying new restaurants. Their family also includes two beloved fur babies, Norman and Higgins.
